Do I need to be a NWSDA member to enter a race? 

No, you do not have to be a NWSDA member to enter a race. Everyone is welcome.

I don't have a husky, can I still do this sport? 

Of course! Many breeds love the sport. 

 

Can I use any harness?

No, please be sure to use a harness built specifically for pulling sports and that is the right fit for your dog (our club members can help you if you don’t know what to look for). Using the wrong harness for mushing could injure your dog. 

 

My dog doesn't like other dogs, can I still run?

Yes, plenty of people run with reactive dogs. However, please be vigilant when passing or being passed by other teams and take care to control your dog to keep everyone safe.
